Our guiding principle

Every human being is valuable.

The Lebenshilfe Hannover was founded in 1959 by dedicated parents of children with intellectual disabilities, and since then has been financially supported by friends and patrons.
During this period it has developed into a partner for many people both with and without disabilities.

We want to make comprehensive participation a reality and lead the way in shaping their life as part of our society.

We use our knowledge, experience and creativity to support and encourage people with different talents, strengths and limitations.

The basis for our action is respectful, friendly interaction.
Our future is a society in which everyone can find their place.
Our guiding principle provides the framework and mandatory basis for our actions.
